Quality control on packaging starts before the goods leave the manufacturer. Chubby Gorilla's US facility runs to tight moulding tolerances and documented process controls. Our job on the EU side is to keep that chain of custody intact and catch anything that does not look right.
Every case in our warehouse was purchased directly from Chubby Gorilla and cleared through EU customs by us. No middlemen. No repackers. No mixed batches from unknown sources. This is the single biggest lever on quality — you cannot inspect quality into a bad supply chain.
Every incoming pallet is checked against the packing list. We spot-check units from randomly selected cases for wall thickness, cap engagement, tamper-band function and nozzle tip geometry (on Unicorn ranges). Anything that fails is quarantined and reported back to the manufacturer.
Every case has a manufacturer batch code. We record which batches ship to which customer orders, so if an issue arises after delivery we can trace it back to a specific batch and pull other affected units before they cause a problem elsewhere.
We can supply the Declaration of Conformity, EN ISO 8317 certificates, and food-contact statements for the SKUs we distribute. Ask when you place an order and we will attach the documentation to the shipment.
No — unit-level testing would be prohibitively expensive and is not how packaging QC works. We spot-check statistically representative samples and rely on the manufacturer's documented process controls for the rest.
The affected batch is quarantined immediately. We notify Chubby Gorilla, contact any customer who received units from that batch, and replace or refund as needed.
