The 510 cartridge is the most common vape format in Europe, and the tube around it is the single most visible piece of packaging your customer touches. Pick the wrong tube and you get leaked oil at the seal, odor bleed on the shelf, and a cap that either fails child-resistance testing or annoys the end user.
This guide covers how to size a 510 tube against your cartridge geometry, what odor-proof and child-resistant actually mean at the certification level, and why Aviator-style tubes have become the default across most EU brands.
Standard 510 cartridges range from 60 to 105 mm in overall length and 10.5 to 13 mm across the widest point of the mouthpiece. An undersized tube pinches the cartridge and can crack the glass; an oversized tube lets the cartridge rattle, which chips the coating and generates dust in the fill room. Aviator tubes are available in 78, 84, 95, and 115 mm lengths precisely because those cover 95% of the 510 formats brands actually ship.
'Odor-proof' is used loosely across the industry. What matters is whether the closure seals against the tube body under real conditions: temperature cycling in a warehouse, 24-hour vibration in transit, and repeated open/close by the end user. Chubby Gorilla Aviator tubes use a step-and-turn closure that holds against those conditions; generic press-fit tubes do not.
For a tube to legally carry a 'child-resistant' claim in the EU it must hold current EN ISO 8317 documentation. Ask your supplier for the certificate, the test date, and the SKU it covers. If the certificate names a different SKU than the one you are buying, it does not apply. See our full explainer on
Every 510 tube sold in the EU needs product identification, batch code, and (under the upcoming PPWR framework) a recyclability marking. Tubes with a smooth cylindrical body accept wrap labels cleanly; tubes with heavy embossing do not. If you are filling under a private-label brand, this is worth checking before you order the first pallet.
Aviator 510 tubes are packed in cases of 500 or 1,000 depending on length. Ordering in whole cases keeps the price down and avoids repack fees. Our tier pricing on every SKU snaps to whole-case increments so you always see the real landed unit cost, not a headline price that changes once you check out.
Most 1 ml 510 cartridges (Ccell, Ithaka, and similar) sit inside an 84 mm Aviator tube with clearance for a shrink band. If your cartridge has a raised drip tip you may need the 95 mm option — measure overall length from base to mouthpiece and add 3–5 mm of clearance.
Yes — the Aviator closure is tested to EN ISO 8317 and the certificate is issued at SKU level. Ask us for the current certificate on the exact SKU you are ordering; the sample box includes the paperwork alongside the physical sample.
We supply blank tubes; most brands apply their own wrap label or shrink sleeve in-house or with a local converter. If you need a bundled print service across a full run, our custom packaging team can quote it as a separate line.
One full case (500 or 1,000 units depending on length). We ship in 24–48 hours from EU stock and there is no minimum spend beyond the case.
The Aviator closure holds against odor bleed and passes CR testing; generic press-fit tubes typically do neither. On a filling line the tolerance difference also matters — Aviator tubes seat consistently in a cap machine, generics jam.
